If you would like to be my friend, comment here and say where ya know me from and/or what we have in common. I'm pretty easy going about it, so it is likely I will friend ya back.

I'm not really into the whole having 'friends I don't talk to' thing, so if you never comment or post & after a few months I look at your user name & can't figure out who you are... it's likely you'll get cut. I find the lurker thing a little creepy... but I might make exceptions if you introduce yourself at the very least :)

Oh internets! I have so much I need to write about... but it seems I have the attention of a gnat lately. SO you get the BULLET POINTS OF DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM *echo voice*

ER... OK... so I'm not actually skilled at the internets enough to make bullet points... NUMBERS IT IS.

1. I was very saddened by the passing of Michael Jackson. He was such a large part of my childhood it's hard to believe he's gone. Not even a month ago I started my I Need Good Seats to See MJ Fund in high hopes he'd tour America after the dates in London. I'm pretty crushed I'll never get to see him live. He was one of the greatest entertainers of all time, and I hope it's peaceful where he is. I'll miss you Michael!

2. I dyed my hair BLONDER and pinker. The blonde came out great... the pink, however, really liked the blonde. They got a little too friendly... and I ended up much pinker than I would've wanted. My blonder highlights have a pink-ish tint. heh. I shall post pictures if I ever get off my lazy ass and do it. I'm gonna shampoo it a couple more times in hopes that the bleed off pink areas will fade back to blonde before I attempt any more coloring. This is of course what I get for thinking I CAN DO THAT and not be hair!broke. haha. It really does look quite a bit easier than it is, let me tell you. My sister and I had a really good time dying it together... so I suppose that's the trade off. :)

3. MOVIES. Saw Star Trek a couple more times. Still in love with it. Would like a Spock or Kirk, kthanks. Also enjoyed Cheri with the always lovely Michelle Pfieffer. The costumes were so beautiful!! Plus good story, and acting. The Proposal was extremely funny... I was absolutely DYING with laughter in the middle. The plot was your typical romantic comedy but it managed to stay relevant and feel fresh.

However the list of movies I didn't enjoy is longer. Transformers was stupid... and before you say "BUT IT HAD ROBOTS AND EXPLOSIONS, HOW COULD YOU EXPECT MORE?!", I really think a plot that makes sense isn't too much to ask. I can (and do!) like action films, and explosions are fun. THIS DOES NOT MEAN IT'S OKAY TO NOT BOTHER WITH PLOT AT ALL. People should expect more from their movies. I don't need complex plots... just ones that aren't so nonsensical.

Ice Age 3 wasn't funny. Well I did chuckle in a couple parts, but overall not worth it. Year One is a waste of your life. Seriously. DO NOT SEE IT. The biggest disappointment was Public Enemies. Johnny was very pretty to look at... but the production value was so low it was LAUGHABLY bad. In several scenes the camera man is visible in a reflection IN THE SHOT. Whenever Johnny is wearing glasses (most of the movie) you can see a green light reflected in the lenses... that would be the audio levels on a camera. The temperature of the lighting would change with the camera angle. It was so weird. The lighting was so horrific I don't even know where to begin. The cinematography is shaky and, well, horrible. It's very "home movie" which I don't understand for a film set in 1933 (I don't like it in indie films either but at least then it can make *some* sense). The funny part is I turned to my friend during the film and said "Wow this is like British TV". Turns out Michael Mann (director) went to London International Film School.

4. I found some FABULOUS fabric for my eventual Narcissa costume. They only had 2 yards... but that's enough for a corset. I'm not even really done with the design of the costume yet. I've been researching some early Chanel designs... mixing it with some My Fair Lady-ness (without a ton of FRILL). I'm excited. It will hopefully be done by Infinitus.

5. I've actually become a crazier fangirl than I ever expected. I fully blame Adam Lambert and Kris Allen and their crazy!cuteness. I actually read some fan fiction about REAL PEOPLE. It was odd. But... hot. haha. I'm actually blushing as I tell you this. WHO KNEW?

6. Speaking of fanfic the lovely and very talented [info]ldymusyc wrote me an amazing Lucissa fic you must check out. Read it here and leave her some comment lovin' cuz she deserves it!

7. HELP!... I have a desire to re-read a fic I can't find. It's H/D and I'm 90% sure it was by [info]furiosity. Draco cheats on Harry with some guy in a seedy part of town (?), and Harry follows him, sees him, and doesn't say anything. It eats at him for a couple months before he accuses Draco. Draco can't understand why Harry is upset about it because he loves Harry and that doesn't change anything. Eventually Draco gives in to Harry's demands that they are monogamous... but it's bittersweet because Draco knows he won't be happy that way. Does this sound familiar to anyone??

...I've been literally writing this in pieces for days... so I'm ending it at 7. Good number :)

You who I miss? My fluffy romantic side. I dunno what happened to her, but ho-boy she was a lot more fun than this person who snarls every time she sees happy couples or romance of any sort. I was at work the other day and I overheard someone quote "It is better to have loved and lost, than never to have loved at all". I almost couldn't stop myself from snorting. Now, there was a time when I would've believed that whole heartedly, nodded sagely and dreamt of a prince who would be worth any price.

I can say with a certain level of certainty that the heart ache from the end of my last relationship was not worth the three years plus we were together. It was in no way a bad relationship either... there was more good times than bad. I just, wouldn't say it was worth it. Consequently I think this means we weren't Really In Love (whatever that means). But I think, beyond that relationship, in general I don't like knowing about things I will never have or experience. I'm more of a 'You can't miss what you've never had' girl. I suppose that speaks to my selfishness. If I can't experience it or have it, I don't want to know what I'm missing.

So... yeah. If this little bitter rant is any indication I've been feeling a bit blue. I've been a HORRIBLE lj buddy and commented on next to nothing. I have been reading... so there's that at least :)

In happier news I registered for Azkatraz! I spent today with Steph at the mall looking for items to make my Slytherin student costume into School Aged Narcissa. I got a cute green head band with a little green bow on the side (similar to this but green), some pearl studs, and a couple pearl bracelets. I think of her as Blair Waldorf-ish... don't ya think? I'm looking for some tights... I'm thinking maybe argyle, but it'd have to be classy. Not finding anything I love. I'm gonna to make a notebook she carries around with Lucius' name in a heart, and maybe 'Tujours Pur' scribbled about. A green quill maybe. Anything else you all can think of to make it more Cissa?

My white peacock costume is... stalled. Finding decently priced white peacock feathers has proved VERY difficult. The best price I've found (for 'eye tail feathers') is $3.50 each... unless I want to go for bleached *crinkles nose*. The bleach ones are all egg shell. It doesn't seem worth that. Sadly I think I will just have to man up and buy em.

You guys, I'm bored. I love it whenever people connect me to fictional characters - it is an endless delight to know that someone was reading a story and thought of me as they did so. Or whatever. So, I made a little fictional character poll! If you post it on your own journal, I'll be pleased as punch to answer it for you :) Stolen from the lovely [info]arasan! (DUDE. I missed you in Texas!!)
Poll #1406833
Open to: All, detailed results viewable to: All

Which fictional character do I remind you of?

Which character do you think is most like yourself?
